What issues did you have before introducing the laser machine?

Our company provides comprehensive support for our customers' car lifestyle, from automotive sales, repairs, and body painting to vehicle inspections, customization, and classic car restoration. While we haven't faced any particular challenges in our work, I began considering introducing a laser machine after seeing a fellow acquaintance in the industry using one.

This acquaintance was producing parts for acrylic keychains and headlight modifications, and he recommended it to me, saying, ' It's interesting because you can make things you design yourself.' Since I'm in the same line of work, I realized I could also use it for car customization. With a desire to start something new, I decided to go and check out laser machines.

Why introduce the GCC LaserPro laser machine?

My acquaintance, who introduced me to laser processing, was using a laser engraving machine from COMNET, and he recommended them to me. Since their headquarters are also in Hyogo Prefecture, I visited their showroom to see the laser machine in person.

During the visit, I was able to confirm that the laser processing quality and ease of use were satisfactory. However, I felt that purchasing a machine outright without any prior experience would be risky. That's when they suggested the subscription-based laser engraving machine E200(also known as MAKES in Japan).

For a monthly fee of 33,000 yen (approximately US$225), which includes support, it seemed like the perfect option for someone like me who wanted to start a laser business. Because my acquaintance was already using it and I felt confident in their support, I decided to go with the subscription model without considering other laser manufacturers.

What results follow laser machine installation?

I've been using the E200 desktop laser engraving machine without any issues. Primarily, I'm creating automotive-related accessories, such as acrylic trees with car illustrations and boards for use at events. Initially, after introducing the machine, I wasn't making enough profit to cover the monthly subscription fee. However, sales have gradually increased, and now I'm starting to see a bit of profit.

What are your prospects for the laser business?

I'm still in the early stages, but I hope that starting something new will positively impact my main business as well. I plan to steadily increase the number of products and sales, with the goal of eventually being able to invest in a higher-performance laser engraving machine.
